  • Participants will be able to summarize the enormity of the developmental challenges of adolescence on families.

  • Participants will be able to describe the inner life of the adolescent.

  • Participants will be able to describe the inner life of the family with an adolescent.

  • Participants will be able to summarize the role of forgiveness with adolescents and their families.

  • Participants will be able to indicate how common adolescent issues (mood and anxiety disorders, eating and substance problems, promiscuity, under and over achievement) relate to grief.

  • Participants will understand the basics of healthy adolescent communication.

  • Participants will be able to discuss the unique challenges of parent/adolescent communication.
