Participants will discuss how out-of-home placement, mental health challenges, academic delays and trauma may affect adult-child relationships.

Participants will learn the concept of care balanced by clear expectations.

Participants will examine conflicts and the means to their resolution.

Participants will be taught skills to lessen the incidences and emotional intensity of developmentally normal power struggles.

Participants will be shown how to replace retributions with setting boundaries and consistently maintaining them.

Participants will explore the underlying beliefs they hold about teens.

Participants will have the opportunity to fine-tune the communication techniques already in place while being offered new ones to enhance cooperation and mutual respect.
