Participants will understand the types of self-harm as well as the functions, purpose, and triggers for self -inflicted violence.

Participants will explore workers feelings and attitudes to self injury.

Participants will learn indicators that someone intends to or is self-harming.

Participants will learn best practice in communication with someone who self-harms, handling disclosure and techniques to reduce, change, or to lower risk.

Participants will learn what is helpful or unhelpful.

Participants will discuss perspectives on “contagion effect”.
