Reaching Traumatized Children Through Music - an Interactive Workshop for Tfbh Staff and Foster Parents

• In this workshop/training, staff and foster parents will learn basic techniques of using music therapeutically for themselves as a self-soother, and as a therapeutic tool for building trust and rapport between foster parents and children. 

• Participants will learn how to pick up symbolic cues in songs and modern music for adolescents, use drum interactions as re-directional tools for younger children, structure a fun, nurturing, safe, music-making environment, and many more basic, yet powerful techniques that will help families explore, hold, build, and give voice to some of the most difficult emotions which are part of the foster family’s challenges and experience.
